Complexify the Simple

Sometimes, I think the real major obstacle to mastery is ourselves. Things are right before our eyes but we refuse to see it. We rather mystify things, romanticise the past, mentally make them out to be more difficult than they really are and basically complexify the simple.

Great thoughts by Mushin (aka ZenMindSword) and something I have been thinking about myself lately. Every time I cross something like this, I am reminded of a fortune cookie I received years ago:

“Simplicity of character is the natural results of profound thought.” — Fortune Cookie
